I'm Baaack!

1 min read
It's been a LONG time since I posted anything on Deviant. I've been so busy with so many things that I just haven't had time. I gave it some though though, and decided that building up my gallery here could be a great thing. If I want my work seen, I've got to get it out there!

So, I'll be adding images of my work here. I deleted all of the old, crappy photos, and I'll be uploading new, better ones. I'll also be sharing things that never got posted before. I hope that you all enjoy looking, and that you'll come by the site and maybe take a few things home with you. :)

Now, I know that I haven't used DeviantArt much, but I was under the impression from what I've seen others doing and what I've read online that thanking people for giving you a fave :+fav: was good practice. I think it's just polite, but apparently it creates good relations between members too. So imagine my surprise when I went to thank someone for :+fav:ing more of my art and found out I'd been blocked. Turns out that low down on their profile in a place I hadn't seen before they state that they block anyone who thanks them.

What the heck is up with that? Why on earth would you block someone for politely acknowledging that you liked them? It seems like a crappy thing to do. Of course now I'm wondering if there are other users with this secret rule and if I'm going to get blocked by other people for doing what I thought was the right thing.

Was this person an oddity among DA users? Is there some reason for a user having that kind of policy? It really makes no sense to me. I think thanking people is just a good habit to have. I also like to leave a comment on everything I :+fav:. I figure it's nice for someone to know why a person liked their work. My commenting has actually started a few little conversations, and I think that's cool. I just have to wonder about this person. And anyway, since most people post their thank you on the favorites page of the person who gave the :+fav:, they'd never see the notice on the very bottom of that user's profile.

Oh well. I'll just hope it's a one-off thing and it's not a normal practice for DA users. Until I find out otherwise, I'm going to thank people who take the time to show some interest in my work.

I'm trying to work and be creative too, and also find time to add new stuff here. I added 5 more images and I'll add some more later tonight. I'm also planning on adding some of my poetry too. I'm hoping it may get a few people interested in the poetry books I've written.

I'm also working on some Monster High stuff. I did one little crochet dress, a wedding set and a chair. I've also done some wings but they're not finished yet. Once dracoselene is done making stands we'll get some photos up.

In other news, all of the jewelry in my gallery is for sale, so if you're interested, make me an offer. I'd love to have them out in the world.

Since I'm working to get all of my art up, I have a lot to add. I know that some people will drop you off their Deviant Watch if you post too many things in a day. So how much is too much? I'm doing 5 a day right now, and it's going to take a long time to get it all up at that rate. Would 5 early in the day and 5 at night be okay? I don't want to overload people. The whole idea is to get some buzz going about my art, not tick people off.

It's been a long time coming, but I finally got around to watermarking all of the work I've done, and I'm going to be uploading it so everyone can see the kind of art I do. It's wildly varied, but it's about time I show it off.
I hate that I have to put the watermarks on the images, but there are so many thieves out there, I don't want people stealing the images and making money from them. It's my work, if anyone's gonna make money it ought to be me! With that in mind, there will also be a Zazzle link with each of the images. I have some of my stuff up on CafePress too, but not all of it yet.
I'm hoping that putting my work here will get some people interested in and talking about my art. I could use some good buzz!
